dB ist eine relative Einheit, die eine Vielfache darstellt. Die spezifische Formel lautet 10log (Vielfaches), zum Beispiel 10dB für 10-fach und 30dB für 10^3-fach. dBm ist eine absolute Einheit, die die Einheit der Leistung in mW (Milliwatt) und W (Watt) darstellt.
